Tauron Ekoenergia, a Tauron Group’s subsidiary is currently preparing to build a wind farm. The company has announced an invitation to tender for supply, assembly, commencement and servicing of 40 MW Wicko Wind Farm and leasing-based financing. Total cost of the investment is estimated at over PLN 200 million. Applications for approval to bid may be filed until 16 August 2010.
The subject of the tender is supply, assembly, commencement and servicing of twenty wind farms with 2 MW capacity each, together forming 40 MW Wicko Wind Farm with associated infrastructure including access roads, assembly sites, turbine foundations, medium voltage network and SN/110kV substation with connection to the existing Wicko Main Power Supply Unit, based on project documentation developed by the Ordering Party. The subject of the tender includes financing of the investment through leasing and other (auxiliary) financial instruments. Commencement date of the wind farm may not exceed 18 months from the date of signature of the agreement under the tender.
“Tauron starts to build wind-powered units. Until 2020 the Group intends to commence wind farms with total capacity of 440 MW. We plan to complete construction of 40 MW Wicko Wind Farm in 2012. Currently, Tauron generates electrical energy from renewable sources in 35 hydro power plants with total capacity of 131.2 MW. In 2009 Tauron generated 0.9 TWh net electricity from renewable sources. Until 2010 the Company plans to triple the amount of energy generated from renewable sources”, said Dariusz Lubera, President of the Management Board, Chief Executive Officer at Tauron Polska Energia S.A.
