TAURON to be included in WIG20

Starting 17 December TAURON Polska Energia will be included in WIG20, the index of twenty largest companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. According to yesterday’s statement of the WSE, TAURON will be on the eighth place in WIG20 and will have a 4% share in the index. The company that was removed from the index is Bioton.

- ”TAURON’s presence in WIG20 is consistent with our expectations and confirms strong position of the Group in the capital market. I am convinced that our presence in WIG20 index will help increase institutional and individual investors’ interest in our shares which will result in higher turnover value”, said Dariusz Lubera, President of the Management Board of TAURON Polska energia S.A.

Inclusion in WIG20 is a result of index review carried out by the Warsaw Stock Exchange based on data after the last session of January (annual revision) and April, July and October (quarterly revisions). The basis for adding companies as members of WIG20, mWIG40 and sWIG80 indices is the ranking of those indices prepared after the last session of October which takes into account the turnover for the last 12 months and capitalisation as of the date of the ranking. WIG20 index has been calculated since 1994 based on the value of portfolio including shares of 20 largest and most liquid companies from the main market.
