Południowy Koncern Węglowy of the TAURON Group received a subsidy for initial investments in the amount of PLN 44.5 million. The company applied for such an amount and intends to spend it on investments.
On 8 November in Katowice, PKW and the Minister of the Economy signed two agreements for subsidies to fund execution of initial investments, in line with the company’s applications filed in September this year and approved by the Minister.
The company will receive a PLN 25.2 million subsidy for execution of task “Access to Byczyna site and production from the first pilot longwall” executed at Zakład Górniczy Sobieski. For execution of another investment, i.e. coal mining at level 500m (task called “Level 500m construction”) at Zakład Górniczy Janina, the company will receive PLN 19.3 million.
Access to Byczyna site at ZG Sobieski will provide access to approx. 19 million tons of resources. The project will be executed from 2010 to 2016 and production will be possible from 2011 to 2027. The purpose of the construction of level 500m at ZG Janina, where production will be available from 2010 to 2025, is to mine approx. 22 million tons of hard coal.
