The next coal contract

On 29 December, the biggest energy producer in TAURON group - Południowy Koncern Energetyczny and Południowy Koncern Węglowy - as the mining company of the Group, signed the contract on delivery of coal and  energy silt in the years 2011–2013. The value of the contract amounts to about PLN 2.5 billion.
 
It is the next mining contract signed by the manufacturers of TAURON Group this year. The three-year contracts on sales of coal of the value of PLN 2.4 billion were signed with Kompania Węglowa on 1 December. On 8 December, Katowicki Holding Węglowy and the manufacturing companies of the Group signed the biannual contract on delivery of coal amounting to the value of almost PLN 700 million.
Południowy Koncern Węglowy [PKW] is currently the second biggest supplier of coal for TAURON Group. In accordance with the corporate strategy of the Group for Mining Area, deliveries from PKW are to satisfy perceptively about 50 percent of the holding needs. To reach this goal, investment is underway in the company in the existing mining plants (ZG Sobieski and ZG Janina) as well as action has been undertaken to acquire a coal mine, KWK Bolesław Śmiały.
