TAURON EKO Premium, TAURON’s ecological product, received the award Eco-laurels of the Decade given by the Polish Chamber of Ecology. In 2010, in the category ‘Eco-product used in industry and construction segment’ the award was given to TAURON’s product – TAURON EKO Premium, and this year the same product was awarded the Eco-laurels of the Decade.
Polish Chamber of Ecology has been awarding environment friendly initiatives and products for 10 years. On 21 June they awarded the Eco-laurels of the Decade. These are awards for companies whose solutions were previously recognized by the contest jury and turned out to be the best among all the products awarded so far.
TAURON EKO Premium is the first and only energy in Poland generated from renewable sources whose origin is confirmed by the Polish Association for Energy Certification. The product is offered under Energy Supply Guarantee System. It is a confirmation that the energy was generated purely from renewable sources (such as hydro power plants), and that it is generated in an environmentally friendly manner without any negative impact on the environment. The system enables you to trace the actual path of trade flow.
A partner of the Energy Supply Guarantee System is the Polish Association for Energy Certification (PTCE) that was appointed by the Polish National Energy Conservation Agency as the only independent institution operating in Poland that could develop such a certificate. Companies that decide to purchase the TAURON EKO Premium product are the only companies in Poland that may put on their products, websites, promotional materials the TAURON EKO Premium logo and the PTCE sign that guarantees ecological energy supply.

We have also taken due care to have its origin confirmed by a certified quality sign recommended by the Management Board of Polish Association for Energy Certification’ said Krzysztof Zamasz, vice-president of TAURON Polska Energia S.A., who was awarded at the Polish Chamber of Ecology gala for contribution to environment protection.
Eco-laurel of the Decade in the category ‘Energy saving, renewable energy sources’ was awarded to Elektrownia Stalowa Wola of the TAURON Group for development of OP-150 boiler for biomass co-combustion with installation for storage, preparation and transport of biomass to the boiler. In the same category this year, the award went to Elektrownia Łagisza of TAURON Group’s Południowy Koncern Energetyczny for 460 MWe unit with fluidized bed boiler for overcritical parameters.
