TAURON Polska Energia received honorable mention from the jury of “The Best Annual Report 2010” contest for the quality of consolidated financial statements included in the TAURON Group’s report for 2010. The gala organized by the Accounting and Tax Institute was held on 21 October in the Warsaw Stock Exchange’s trading room.
In the evaluation of TAURON’s annual report, the members of the jury who assessed the application of international accounting standards and international financial reporting standards noted that the annual financial statement enables transparent and aggregated evaluation of the company’s financial standing, its results and cash flows.
“The honorable mention is in line with our actions aimed at keeping the reporting at the top level, which is a basis for good relations with our investors. We enjoy the award even more as we received it for the first annual report issued by TAURON as a listed company”, said Dariusz Lubera, CEO at TAURON Polska Energia S.A.
“High evaluation of the TAURON Group’s financial statements is a result of work done by our financial and accounting officers, as well as regular, very good cooperation with our auditor. Thanks to that, the addressees of our reports receive a fair, transparent and precise financial information”, said Krzysztof Zawadzki, Vice-president of the Management Board, CFO.
The main purpose of the contest is to develop recognized standards for preparing annual reports in accordance with the IFRS/IRS, in accordance with the best practice in the field, and at the same time to promote companies that prepare the best consolidated annual reports in terms of value for shareholders and investors.
The contest was held under the auspices of the Ministry of the State Treasury, Polish Financial Supervision Authority, the National Depository for Securities, Polish Association of Listed Companies and Business Center Club. The jury includes representatives of audit and consulting firms, financial institutions, organizations connected with the capital market and media.
