As part of Heat Segment development in the TAURON Group, on 30 April a merger of companies TAURON Ciepło S.A. (acquiring company) and Elektrociepłownia Tychy S.A., Elektrociepłownia EC Nowa Sp. z o.o. and Energetyka Cieplna w Kamiennej Górze Sp. z o.o. was registered in the National Court Register.
“In line with the strategy we merge companies that run similar operations, and by doing that we also streamline the Group’s structure. Incorporation of three companies into TAURON Ciepło is another stage of the process. Earlier we consolidated distribution, generation, energy trading and customer service companies. Now, we are also working on mergers with companies acquired from Vattenfall in December last year. Such actions bring about business profits and streamline the Group’s structure”, said Dariusz Lubera, President of the Management Board at TAURON Polska Energia.
On 17 January Management Boards of the four heat companies that merged at the end of April agreed on the merger plan. On 10 April Extraordinary General Meetings of Elektrociepłownia Tychy, TAURON Ciepło, Elektrociepłownia EC Nowa and Energetyka Cieplna w Kamiennej Górze adopted resolutions on merger through acquisition of the four companies by TAURON Ciepło.
