All agreements concluded by TAURON Dystrybucja and TAURON Dystrybucja GZE before the merger remain in force and no amendments are necessary. The transformation process will have no impact on execution of the existing agreements, also bank account numbers indicated in the invoices remain the same.
“Merger of distribution companies is in line with TAURON Group’s strategy that stipulates simplification of the Group’s structure through, among other things, mergers of companies running the same type of operations within the value chain: mining – generation – distribution – supply – customer service. Thanks to the merger, companies will be able to further develop and increase effectiveness as well as improve the quality of distribution services they provide”, said Dariusz Lubera, President of the Management Board at TAURON Polska Energia.
TAURON Dystrybucja operates in the territory of 57 thousand km2, in the following provinces: Lower Silesia, Opole, Silesia, Lesser Poland, and partly Subcarpathian province. It serves 5.2 million customers.
TAURON Dystrybucja GZE, serving 1.1 million customers in Upper Silesia, became part of the TAURON Group in December 2011 following acquisition of GZE assets from Vattenfall.
