On 3 February 2013 TAURON Dystrybucja – a TAURON Group’s company, and BIT Huachuang Electric Vehicle Technology (China) signed cooperation agreement. The purpose of the project will be to use fixed and mobile power infrastructure to store electric energy, which would help stabilize operation of the power grid as well as low-emission electrically-driven transportation.
The system developed under this project will use state-of-the-art batteries and battery charging and replacement stations. For the purpose of the project, technology developed in cooperation between the Polish company and such Chinese partners as BIT (Beijing Institute of Technology), DIANBA and MGL will be used.
‘We decided to launch execution of the first demonstration project in Poland, the purpose of which is to popularize using electric energy storage, including the technology for electrically-driven road transportation’, said Dariusz Lubera, President of the Management Board at TAURON Polska Energia.
Under the project, the parties will conduct research and development works and will gain experience in implementation of new electricity storage technologies.
