TAURON has launched a development and research project called EKO-TATRY which is a part of a series of TAURON Group’s initiatives aiming at low emission abatement. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the Tatrzański District. Under its implementation, TAURON will install and test modern system of electrical heating in single-family houses located in the Podhale region.
The objective of the new project of TAURON is to test, under real conditions, available electrical heating technologies in technical, economic and ecological terms. The data to be acquired owing to its implementation will enable to develop preferential tariffs and price lists for households heating homes using electricity. Besides technical parameters, clients’ opinions and level of satisfaction will be also surveyed in the course of the project.
Single-family houses with the area of maximum 180 m2 , located in Podhale in such areas where no possibility to connect them to the heating and gas grid exists, will participate in the project. In selected facilities the energy audit will be carried out. Based on its results, real properties where the project will be implemented, will be chosen.
In each building covered under the project, electrical heating systems purchased by TAURON will be installed. In parallel, the specialised metering devices will be also mounted, allowing for monitoring of key parameters. After the end of the heating season and collection of necessary information, a report will be developed in which not only the technical but also the ecological and economic aspect of the solution tested will be taken into account.
EKO-TATRY is a development and research project whose effects will be implemented in the coming years. Even now, within the offer of TAURON Ogrzewanie, clients have an access to a broad selection of heating systems. TAURON offers advisory services in the scope of selection and design of a new installation free-of-charge. Formalities associated with the potential extension of electricity connections are handled on behalf of the client, as well as those related to the submission of applications for co-financing under the local environmental protection programmes.
